2-26-00 Question 11

Dear Preschool Teacher,
I am a first year student in the department of preschool education in the university of Athens. I would appreciate any ideas or material for a puppet show. The show must be a snapshot without words but with music.
Thank you in advance.

Dear Puppet Problems,
I can sympathize with you. Have you ever considered "Peter and the Wolf" by Tchaikovsky.  Children enjoy the story about the wolf and the hunter.  Each character is represented by a different musical instrument.  You would just need the backdrop of the forest. (I even have a book/tape with The Muppets portraying the animals).  You can  find it at most libraries.  Look in music stories under Classical Music for the music by Tchaikovsky.

Have Fun!
