3-29-00 Question 24

Dear Preschool Teacher,
I'm going to be taking a PS1 examination soon. One of the sample essay question deals with teaching four year olds to recognize the number "4". It says to write a behavioral objective for doing this. How would you answer the question? Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks very much for any help you can give me.

Dear Essay Woes,
Just write like you are writing your objective in your lesson plans. "The children will practice recognizing the number four by gluing four macaronis on the number four."

Dear Essay Woes,
I would just write down how I feel.  Kind of like you are  making out your lesson plans.  I know one thing we do is glue beans, macaroni, etc to a letter or number that has been written on the page already.  You can also do dot to dot.  I hope these things will help.  Good luck.
